Oru Kal Oru Kannadi and stardom in Kollywood
In 2012, Hansika's first release was M. Rajesh's romantic comedy film Oru Kal Oru Kannadi,it became a runaway hit and earned her positive reviews from critics,in terms of performance.She is filming for Denikaina Ready opposite Vishnu Manchu and Settai opposite Arya. She was selected to play Maya, a female gangster in Silambarasan's Vettai Mannan and is also acting in Vaalu with him. She has also signed Suriya's Singam 2.
Hansika made her debut in a lead role in Puri Jagannadh's Telugu film, Desamuduru, starring opposite Allu Arjun. The film was about a crime reporter who falls in love with a sanyasini, played by Hansika.
Hansika made her debut as a leading actress in Bollywood with Himesh Reshammiya in Aap Kaa Surroor – The Real Luv Story. She played the role of Himesh Reshammiya's lover Ria. The film was released on 29 June 2007 and was a moderate hit. She will also appear in the Hindi film titled He: The Only One, where she will be essaying the role of a killer, hell-bent on taking revenge for her family.
Hansika made her Kannada debut in Bindaas with Puneet Rajkumar. The film was released on 15 February 2008. She paired with Jr. NTR in the film Kantri, which was released in May 2008. The film was a moderate hit. She made her Tamil film debut in the 2011 film Mappillai opposite Dhanush, following which her next Tamil film Engeyum Kadhal opposite Jayam Ravi released. Her last film in 2011 was Velayudham alongside Vijay ,which became a box-office success. It was the first time she portrayed the role of a village belle.
Hansika began her television career with a serial called Shaka Laka Boom Boom, a story about a boy named Sanju and his magic pencil. Simultaneously, she also acted in a child role in the Indian serial Des Mein Niklla Hoga Chand, for which she received the Favorite Child Award at the Star Parivaar Awards. She also appeared as one of the children in Koi Mil Gaya with Preity Zinta

Hansika was born to a Sindhi speaking family in Bombay, India. Her dad, Pradeep, is a businessman, while her mom, Mona, is a Dermatologist. She has an elder brother, Prashant. She is a student in Podar Internation School.
As a child artist she has appeared in many TV serials, for example 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thee', 'Hum 2 Hai Na', 'Desh Me Nikla Hoga Chand', 'Shakalaka Boom Boom', 'Celebrity Fame Gurukool', and 'Tum Bin'.
She was accordingly signed by for 'Yahoo' with herself and Govinda. Unfortunately, this movie was shelved.

This did not stop Hansika from acting as she has now appeared in a total of 5 movies in Hindi, as well as several regional language movies (e.g. Desamuduru in Telugu, Sarvam in Tamil).
She speaks Hindi and Tulu fluently. She is involved in physical fitness and diet with Mickey Mehta. At the age of 16 she has three staff persons, as well as her mom, to manage her career.
