Biography:
Deepika is the daughter of former badminton Champion Prakash Padukone. She was born in Denmark. Her father, Prakash Padukone, is a retired badminton player of international repute, and her mother Ujjala is a travel agent. Padukone also has a younger sister, Anisha, born on February 2; 1991.She did her schooling from Bangalore. She pursued Modeling as her career and was then chosen as the brand ambassador of Kingfisher Airlines.
She being a South Indian she debuted from a Kannada film Aishwarya (2006) opposite Upendra. She made a ravishing entry in Bollywood with Farah Khan's Om Shanti om opposite Shah Rukh Khan.
Later she has given back to back hits like Bachna Hai Haseeno (2008), Love Aaj Kal (2009), Housefull (2009).
Currently she is all set with Prakash Jha's ambitious project Aarakshan co-starring Amitabh Bachchan and Saif Ali Khan. She plays Bachchan's daughter and Khan's love-interest in the film.
Personal Life:
Deepika was dating Ranbir Kapoor since March 2008 then they broke up in November 2009. Presently she is dating Kingfisher scion Siddhartha Mallya.
